About our dear Saint Paul: Saint Paul (feast day June 29) was originally Saul of Tarsus, a zealous Pharisee who violently persecuted early Christians. But on the road to Damascus, Jesus appeared to him in a blinding light, completely transforming his life. From that moment, Paul became Christianity's greatest missionary, traveling thousands of miles to spread the Gospel and establishing churches throughout the Roman Empire. His letters to these early Christian communities form much of the New Testament and continue to guide the Church today. He was eventually martyred in Rome under Emperor Nero.
