About our dear Saint Lucy: Saint Lucy (feast day December 13) was a young Christian woman in Sicily who was martyred around 304 AD during the persecution of Emperor Diocletian. Legend says that when her eyes were gouged out, God restored her sight, making her the patron of the blind and those with eye troubles.
