The Sacred Heart of Jesus: A Love That Holds Nothing Back

A heart on fire, crowned with thorns, and wide open — the clearest picture of how much Jesus loves us.
Picture a heart, wrapped in thorns, topped with flames, and wide open. That’s how the Church draws the love of Jesus — and it’s not subtle on purpose.
The Sacred Heart is the love of Christ made visible: a heart that burns for us, was wounded for us, and holds absolutely nothing back.
Families enthrone the Sacred Heart in their homes — giving Jesus the place of honor at the center of the household. Our Sacred Heart of Jesus plush helps a child take that love into their own small hands.
What Does the Image Mean?
Every part of the Sacred Heart tells a child something true. The flames are how much Jesus loves — a fire that never goes out. The crown of thorns says that love cost him something; he loved us all the way to the cross. The wound is the open side from which mercy pours.
And the heart is open, not guarded. That’s the whole message: Jesus is not far off or stern. His heart is turned toward us, all the time.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28
The Saint Who Saw It
The devotion spread because of a humble French nun, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. In the 1670s, Jesus appeared to her and showed her his heart, asking that his love be made known.
From those visions came the practices many families still keep: honoring the Sacred Heart, and the First Fridays — going to Mass on the first Friday of each month as a small, steady act of love in return.
A Love Kids Can Grasp
Children get hearts. They know what it means to be loved completely by someone. The Sacred Heart simply says: that’s how Jesus loves you — only more.
Enthroning the Sacred Heart can be as simple as putting his image in a place of honor and praying, “Jesus, this is your home; be the center of our family.” A small act that quietly changes the feel of a house.
A Note for Parents
Enthrone him at home. Give the Sacred Heart a place of honor and ask Jesus to be the center of your family.
Try First Fridays. Mass on the first Friday of the month is a simple, beautiful family habit.
Decode the image. The flames, the thorns, the wound — each one teaches a child how Jesus loves.
Give them something to hold. A Sacred Heart plush lets a child carry the love of Jesus close all day.
Bringing the Sacred Heart Home
Every home needs a center. A small image of the Sacred Heart on a wall or shelf is a daily reminder of whose love the household is built on.
For the children, the soft Sacred Heart of Jesus plush is made to be carried, hugged, and kept close. And for a shelf or family altar, our hand-painted Sacred Heart Collectors Edition figure is an heirloom-quality piece for the whole household.
A Prayer to the Sacred Heart
Sacred Heart of Jesus,
your love for us is a fire that never goes out.
Come and be the center of our home.
Teach our family to love as you love,
to bring you our weariness and our worries,
and to trust in your open, merciful heart.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in you. Amen.
The Sacred Heart isn’t a hard teaching to pass on — it’s the easiest one. It simply tells your children the truest thing there is: they are loved, completely, by a heart that gave everything for them.
